Writing a play was something I really wanted to do but had no idea how to go about it. I dreamed about creating an unapologetically queer play but was anxious about having that queerness honoured. Fruit Box Theatre did that and so much more. They were incredibly supportive in every imaginable way, including me at every stage and giving me the chance to collaborate with so many passionate artists so I could really get to the heart of my play. I don't think it would have become the same piece of work without them, and the process definitely wouldn't have been anywhere near as fun or joyful.

Fruit Box are doing indie theatre right. Accessibility and diversity have many production companies afraid – afraid of getting it wrong. They need only to look at Fruit Box to get it right. Working with these exquisite, colourful humans was one of the best theatre experiences I’ve had and I have no doubt that Maddy and Sean have a strong road of success ahead of them.
